As-Salaamu Alaykum brothers amd sisters 
I am Anwar Achki a Syrian man and I arrived in Ireland in December 2016
When I first moved to Loughrea there was no Mosque so we had to travel to either Galway city or to Ballinasloe town to pray the Friday Jummah prayer. 
As I am qualified in reading Quran and in being Imam people asked me to lead them in prayer. 

Alhamdulilah, I became the Imam of our Loughrea Mosque here in Co.Galway, Ireland. 
In 2019 one of the brothers offered a room in his house in Loughrea to be as a Mosque. 
We were few people about 10 brothers and as our numbers grew we rented a room in an apartment. 
Alhamdulilah our community continued to grow and then we rented an entire apartment.
In December 2022, unfortunately the flat was flooded because of damaged water pipes due to the frost. 
But as Allah is the most generous he sent us one brother to bring us to a new home. 
Our new temporary Mosque has allowed us to provide new services now such as Quran classes for kids and women. 
It is a more comfortable Mosque where our community is able to gather for Fajr and Maghrib prayers. 
The great news is one of our brothers was able to buy a premises, in need of a lot of renovation, and donated the premises to Allah, and our community, to be our own future permanent Mosque.
This place is an old building which needs a lot of refurbishment.
We are aiming to raise €60,000 and we are looking for your generosity to get the renovations completed.
